The Enterprise studies the water-world of Argo, a planet devastated by earthquakes. On an away mission in a special aqua-shuttlecraft, Kirk and Mr. Spock are attacked by a sea monster. Five days later, Dr. McCoy, Scotty and Lieutenant Clayton discover that Kirk and Spock have been transformed into water-breathers.
