On the planet Phylos, Mr. Spock is captured by the Phylosians, a plant-like race. A giant clone of Terran scientist Dr. Starros Keniclius, Keniclius 5, clones Mr. Spock to help preserve galactic peace, but the cloning operation leaves the real Spock near death.
