On a mission to deliver a shipment of quintotritcale to Sherman’s Planet, the Enterprise rescues Cyrano Jones from a Klingon attack. Not coming aboard alone, Jones brings his ever-present tribbles with him and a mysterious "tribble predator." The Klingons, however, will stop at nothing to get their hands on the creature.
