MENDANT OF THE TERRATIN PLAYED BY: James Doohan SPECIES: Human Leader of the human colony Terra Ten, which over the generations, degenerated into "Terratin." He sought the help of the U.S.S. Enterprise from the destructive seismic activity of their planet. Because spyroid-epsilon waves are a naturally occurring phenomenon on the planet, the original colonists shrank to 1/16 of a inch tall and were never rescued. The only way to call for help was to shrink the crew of the Enterprise down to their size. Regretting the damage to the ship this caused, the Mendant offered the crew enough dilithium crystals to power the ship. The crew beamed their miniature city aboard and promised to take them to planet Verdanis. . .a planet as beautiful as Earth. As reward, the Mendant named the crew of the Enterprise honourary Terratins.
