The first
visual appearance of the green-skinned Orions, other
than Orion Slave Girls. |

|
A continuity
error has the characters referring to the Orions (ore-I-ons)
as "Ore-e-ons" in contrast to their previous mention in
"Yesteryear",
"The Time Trap" as well as the classic episode
"Journey To Babel" and "Star Trek: Enterprise"'s
episodes
"Borderland" and
"Bound." |
|
|
|
It is
possible that the Orions in this episode are a
completely differently race as they somewhat conflict
with the appearance of the Orion in
"The Time Trap" and "Star Trek: Enterprise"'s
episodes
"Borderland" and
"Bound." However, since Kirk makes
reference to their involvement in the Babel Conference
from "Journey to Babel", one is not quite sure to what
to make of this... |

|
The Orion
captain claims that all failed Orion missions end in
suicide, which is just what happened to the Orion vessel
in
"Journey to Babel." The Orion captain also attempted
to ingest a slow poison pill which is how Thelev, the
Orion disguised as an Andorian killed himself in the
episode. |

|
The
Enterprise is set to make a rendezvous at Deneb V.
Deneb IV was the destination of the Enterprise-D
in
"Encounter at Farpoint" on "Star Trek: The Next
Generation" as well as a place where Kirk and Gary
Mitchell had an interesting night as mentioned in the
classic episode
"Where No Man Has Gone Before." The
Enterprise-E was also to explore the Deneb star
system in the alternate ending to
"Star
Trek Nemesis." |

In a
continuity error, Dr. McCoy calls the bridge from
sick-bay only to cut to a shot of him standing next to
Kirk's command chair. |
|
|
|
In another
continuity error, Captain Kirk claims in a log entry
that the Orion vessel is in tow, yet, it is not seen. |
